23 Things Mums Have Learnt During the Lockdown
Here I am, full swing into lockdown and some most days I spend moments questioning if I like my own family.
Initially, I thought I would be cooking cupcakes, creating multiple pictures of rainbows and really enjoying family life and for a few days…. And at first I was, but here I am, fingers frantically tapping the keyboard, as the only therapy I actually have left is through my writing – I mean, I can’t even piss in peace at the moment.
Each day is like the film Groundhog Day, we wake up, George asks the same question “where are we going today?” Each day my reply is the same “the garden!”.
We have the same routine, same kick offs every morning at breakfast about me pouring the cereal without him, the same kick off about not getting the ratio of the cereal to milk correct … Finally, he is happy for a few moments whilst the God-awful sound of the pain in the arse, that is otherwise known as “Peppa Pig” fills the kitchen.
Anyway, I could go on, but I can’t possibly find the words (without swearing) … So to make myself and any mums who are like me… (questioning their life decisions)….feel better… I asked other mums on my Instagram and Facebook what they have learnt during lock down. Sadly, I couldn’t include everyone’s comments so I selected the ones that cheered me up and made me feel a little less guilty about not enjoying every second with my “bundle of joy”
