Living up to the brand name, Angelcare aims to be the family’s guardian of this modern day when it comes to monitoring your baby. One of the brand’s top monitors is the Angelcare AC1300 Digital Video, Movement and Sound Baby Monitor. With its sleek design and high-tech features, this video monitor caters to the contemporary parents who want convenience and peace of mind.
The device is multifunctional, a combination of quality video and sound monitor, with a 2.4 GHz digital transmission for optimal connection. Because let’s face it, a reliable connectivity is a must, especially when it comes to the safety of our babies. It boasts a few exciting and distinctive features such as the under-the-mattress-movement Sensor Pad, the Audio “Tic” feature and the parent unit locator. Sounds revolutionary, doesn’t it? And that’s why this baby video monitor is getting the international recognition that it deserves.
The video monitor comes in two colours: white or white and grey. It comes with the parent unit, the baby unit and the sensor pad with cord covers. Both the parent and video units use micro USB connectivity for power with all chargers included.
The parent unit features a 3.5 inch LCD colour screen for best image viewing from up to 200 metres. It can view and/or control several functions such as the video pan and zoom, the adjustable LCD screen brightness, the photo sensor (auto day and night vision), temperature display and control, nursery night light, out of range indicator, zoom in and out and the standard low battery indicator. One of the unique features it controls is the Audio “Tic” feature. If this feature is turned on, a ticking sound goes off on the parent unit to assure you that the monitor is working even if the monitor has not picked up on any sounds and movements while your baby is sleeping peacefully. For parents who may find this a bit overbearing, this feature can be easily turned off.
It’s common for us parents to lose things but you won’t have to worry if you lose the parent unit. With a simple touch of a button, the parent unit locator saves the day.
The baby unit is a cute angel-shaped piece packed with nifty functions. The digital zoom and pan is a necessity if you want to keep a closer look at your baby or zoom out to check out his/her surrounding area. Another great function is its adjustable camera angles. We can all agree that this cool looking gadget would possibly turn prey once our little babies become more aware and curious of their surroundings. The unit’s adjustable camera angles allow you to position the video monitor with the best view of your baby, while being out of reach. Keeping the monitor unreachable creates a safe sleeping environment, and that’s unquestionably one of our best intentions.
Other nifty features are the night light which comforts your baby while sleeping in a dark room and guides parents at night when walking into the baby’s room. The infrared night vision allows for better visibility at night when viewing your baby on the parent unit. The temperature sensor is a definite plus. It alleviates mum’s and dad’s concern of baby’s safety while sleeping alone in another room. You don’t have to get up each time you ponder whether the baby is too hot or too cold. The baby monitor displays the temperature in baby’s room on the parent unit, and alerts you if the room temperatures aren’t suitable.
The under-the-mattress Sensor Pad is certainly a fan favourite. This is ideal especially for newborn babies. Undoubtedly, mums and dads have had the urge to check up on baby every time, especially when you can’t hear any sound or movement. This under-the-mattress Sensor Pad, as its name states, can be placed under the baby’s mattress. When turned on, an alert will pop up on the parent unit to warn you if there hasn’t been any movement for about 20 seconds. The great part about this feature is that the sensitivity of the sensor can be adjusted according to your requirements. The Sensor Pad is a masterpiece so unique and brilliantly useful.
Ease of Use
With such an advanced design and technology, it might take some diligent reading and referencing the manual to get the monitor set up. Installing the sensor pad and testing it out may pose a challenge but like most things, this can be accomplished through trial and error. Although this baby video monitor may not be considered an easy plug and play, like all other new gadgets, it takes a bit of getting used to. After all, practice makes perfect.
It is a common opinion that this baby monitor is expensive, however, the pros and benefits outweigh the price. As Angelcare’s top of the line product, intensive work and thought went into the product development to ensure it is modern enough so it captures the millennial parents, but also carefully designed so it provides the assurance for all parents that it does a job well done as your baby’s modern day little guardian. The combination of its standard features and its unique features such as the Sensor Pad, Audio Tic mode and parent unit locator sets it apart from other competition.
Awards/What Other’s Say
“A massive improvement on an already great monitor (from the original)”, “It just does its job like it’s supposed to” and “Saves babies’ lives and gave us comfort”, are just some of the positive feedback parents around the world have shared about this baby video monitor. Although the term ‘saving lives’ can have various context, being considered a “life-saving” device is undeniably a prestigious recognition and success in itself.
If you’re looking for something a little extra in a baby video monitor, in addition to the standard functions, this baby video monitor is for you. For parents who need added guarantee that your baby is ok while sleeping, the Sensor Pad is heaven-sent. So there’s absolutely no need to feel a little paranoid or uneasy. Thanks to Angelcare AC1300’s extra features, we can tame our scariest thoughts and rest easy at night when our precious little ones are by themselves in another room. We can depend on this little guardian to be our watchful eyes and ears.
