CELEBRITY NEWS: Chrissy Teigen and John Legend – Baby Loss
On Thursday 1 October, Chrissy Teigen shared a post on social media revealing that she and Legend had suffered the loss of their child after excessive bleeding during pregnancy. The images shared along with the posts were heartbreaking and a painful yet important reminder for many parents that have previously experienced miscarriage and baby loss.
Well known celebrities including the likes of Chanum Tating and Kim Kardashian West have expressed sympathy for Chrissy Teigen and John Legend following the news of their recent pregnancy loss on 1st October.
Chrissy wrote that they are “shocked and in the kind of deep pain you only hear about, the kind of pain we’ve never felt before”, sharing a series of black-and-white photographs of herself and her husband in hospital.
“We were never able to stop the bleeding and give our baby the fluids he needed, despite bags and bags of blood transfusions. It just wasn’t enough,” the 34-year-old said.
“On this darkest of days, we will grieve, we will cry our eyes out. But we will hug and love each other harder and get through it.”
Although we are unsure how far along Chrissy was, it is estimated that she was around 20 weeks pregnant with her little boy they named Jack.
Teigen and Legend have received thousands messages of support from their fans and celebrity friends since sharing their devastating news.
“We’re always here for you and love you guys so much,” reality star Kardashian West wrote underneath Teigen’s Instagram post.
Model Hailey Bieber said that she was thinking of Teigen and Legend, saying that she was “praying” for the couple and sending them “so much love during this time”.
Actor Channing Tatum commented: “Sending so much love to you right now”
Cruel Intentions star Selma Blair described Teigen as an “angel momma”, writing: “I am so sorry. This grief. This grief. It will hold you and the love will break through. I am so sorry. Your family. You. Love you. My deepest sympathies.”
Ru Paul’s Drag Race judge Michelle Visage also commented on Teigen’s post, stating: “Oh Chrissy. Words will never do to express the sorrow I have for you and your family. God bless you all.”
