Congratulations to Kate and Rio Ferdinand
Pregnancy announcements in lockdown have brought a lot of joy in a very difficult time. At MyBump2Baby, we think it’s so lovely to watch families grow and be happy, that’s why we wanted to share this news and say congratulations to Kate and Rio Ferdinand.
This June, Rio Ferdinand and his wife, Kate Ferdinand, announced that they are expecting their first child together. They announced this fantastic news with a heartfelt Instagram video, with their three children looking through old photos and finding a note saying that Kate is pregnant. The Ferdinand children were all ecstatic, jumping around with joy.
Kate posted the video to Instagram, highlighting how their “crazy house is about to get a little bit crazier”. She also jokes about how she “cannot stop touching her baby bump”, which can be seen on her glamorous Instagram page.
Changing emotions
Throughout her pregnancy journey, Kate has been sharing updates on how her emotions have been changing. This is an incredibly important topic to discuss. Kate mentions that she doesn’t feel herself and that’s why she’s been quiet on her social media channels. Emotions can change on a daily basis and Kate highlights this in an honest way.
As well as her emotions changing regularly, Kate talks about how she feels guilty that she cannot be there as much to support Rio and his kids. Kate says she often runs around at 100 miles an hour and doesn’t get much of a break, it’s taken her time to realise that she must slow down while growing a baby inside of her.
Empowering women
Being pregnant can be a scary experience for some, it can lead to worries that you didn’t think were possible. We think it’s amazing that Kate is sharing this in an empowering way, being honest about the real emotions of women during pregnancy, so that we can all come together to offer support. Often during pregnancy, women can find it hard to know how to feel, with awareness like Kate’s, we can see that there is no ‘normal’ way to feel.
Having a baby is such a lovely part of life, a few weeks ago we chatted to a Father of 1, Mark Willcock, who shared his brave story about becoming a widowed Dad, a story not too disimilar to Rio. The podcast showed that there is support available no matter what path of life you are on.You can listen to his story here.
