Our experienced team offer advice in the following aspects of relationship breakdown:
– Divorce and alternatives to divorce
– Dissolution of civil partnerships
– Matrimonial finances
– Financial disputes arising between unmarried cohabitees
– Resolving the arrangements for any children of the family
– Domestic violence injunctions
– Separation agreements
– Pre-nuptial and post nuptial agreements
We are committed, at all times, to achieving the best possible outcome for all of our clients as quickly as possible and with as little financial and emotional cost as is achievable in the circumstances. We also believe in keeping you fully informed of the progress of your case at all times and empowering you with the knowledge to make the decisions that are in the best interests of you and your family.
We believe in looking for non-court resolutions to legal problems in the first instance, helping you to resolve your circumstances on your own terms as much as possible. We will shortly be adding mediation to our list of services as a means of helping to achieve this. We will also assist you to navigate alternatives to court action when it is appropriate to do so, including:
- Mediation – an independent mediator can be instructed on behalf of both parties to negotiate a resolution.
- The Collaborative process – both parties instruct the same collaborative lawyer to enter into discussions.
- Round table meetings – Each party instructs a separate Solicitor to engage in negotiations.
- Arbitration – A jointly appointed arbitrator considers the situation and makes a decision. That decision is then binding on the parties and embodied in a court order.
- Private dispute resolution hearing / early neutral evaluation – the assistance of a specially trained person acting as a judge identifies and seeks to resolve the issues in the case.
There will be times, of course, where litigation is unavoidable and in such cases, we take a robust approach to case management and achieving the best outcome for you. Our family team includes experienced advocates as well as a long-established relationship with an extensive network of experienced Counsel who may be called upon to assist us from time to time if it is the best option for the client in the circumstances.
We understand that family breakdown of any kind is stressful and it is important that you have a solicitor that you feel confident working with. For this reason, we offer a free initial 30-minute consultation to discuss your individual circumstances and ensure that you are comfortable with the fee earner who may be handling your case for you.
