Hepburn Delaney was established in 2013 by Jane Hepburn and Rebecca Delaney who had worked together for several years before deciding to set up a specialist family law practice. After 5 successful years, Jane Hepburn took the decision to retire from full time practice in 2018. We are privileged that she continues to work with and support Hepburn Delaney in a consultancy role.
At the heart of our business is our pledge to provide quality services at reasonable prices. We feel that social conscience and ethical practices are vital. We are therefore one of the few firms who continue to commit to Legal Aid where eligible.
Each client is given a bespoke pricing package and we offer fixed fees for some services. We are always happy to have a no obligation initial conversation with you if you are unsure in what direction you need to proceed and offer a cost-effective initial fixed fee appointment which means you can receive full legal advice before deciding what to do next.
We also offer online legal advice
- Matrimonial – legal support through your divorce can be delivered by the team at Hepburn Delaney online/video call and over the telephone.
- Wills and Probate – For Wills and Probate, we have an array of systems and procedures in place to enable the signing of documents and taking of instructions online and over the telephone.
- Lasting powers of attorney – An LPA document as it is commonly called is an important legal document which allows you to appoint a person that you trust to with decision-making, or to make decisions on your behalf. As with wills and probate, we are able to effectively support with LPA online or over the telephone.
- Family mediation – Family medication is a voluntary, neutral way of resolving disputes that may arise before, during or after separation. Reaching an agreement during mediation helps to avoid a lengthy and costly court process. Delivering family mediation online is a practical way to manage dispute resolution as it means that individuals do not have to meet in person
Many of the team members that you see on Our Team page have been with us from day one and they remain integral to our professional and friendly ethos. Our Family Solicitors have also experienced Advocates which means they can represent you in Court where necessary.
We also write blogs on Family Law subjects offering practical advice and information such as how to manage children’s arrangement orders during lockdown, child custody rights, divorce and children and protecting your children in your Will.
We focus on efficiency and streamlining – managing the daily running of the firm in a cost-effective manner which ultimately results in competitive and affordable fees. To achieve this, we invest in our people as well as up to date technology to ensure that we can offer the best possible service. We run a paperless system and continue to look for ways to provide legal advice in a modern, user-friendly manner.
Whether our clients need advice on relationship breakdown, protection of assets, arrangements for children or life-planning, we are here to provide expertise and reassurance. We are proud of our team, their knowledge and hard work, and everything that Hepburn Delaney has achieved.
