Meadows Ryan Solicitors Ltd is one of the longest established firms of solicitors in Surrey. We aim to build longstanding and successful relationships with our clients so that we can deliver a personal, proactive and excellent legal service to clients.
What we do:
We help with a variety of practice areas, including residential and commercial property, mergers and acquisitions, commercial and trade services, employment matters, family and relationship matters, litigation, wills, estate planning and power of attorney, immigration and notarial.
Our family department:
Our passionate family law team has the expertise and experience to provide clients with sound advice during what are often difficult times. We are experienced in all areas of family work, and we offer personalised expert legal advice to meet your needs. Whether already in dispute or seeking advice on how to avoid conflict, whether you need representation in complex proceedings or advice on how to negotiate your own settlement, Meadows Ryan can help.
We offer advice in all areas of family law including: –
Cohabitation and unmarried couples; we can explain what rights you have as a cohabitee, as these vary from that of a married couple. We also explain how to enforce these rights and the protections offered to cohabitees through the law.
Separation and Judicial Separation; this can be a difficult time and we aim to make it as pain free and professional as possible whilst still lending an understanding ear.
Pre Nuptial and Post Nuptial agreements; we can draft a pre or post nuptial agreement with you and make applications for agreements made in other jurisdictions, to be recognised in the UK.
Divorce and Nullity; we offer services for divorce regarding finances and / or children. When it is just financial matter, it is referred to as “Financial Ancillary Relief”.
Child related matters include: Child Arrangements orders and agreements, Children Act orders, Parental Responsibility, Abduction, Adoption, Special Guardianship, Social Services involvement, Change of Name Deeds, Child maintenance, disputes over schooling and other issues within the catchment of ‘children’s matters’. An example of this is helping to create an agreement of time split between parents post separation and what each parent will allow, and any concerns can be dealt with within proceedings to make decision legally binding. Our Family Partner, Christian Abletshauser is a member of Resolution and an accredited Collaborative Lawyer.
Civil Partnerships and Dissolution- we can provide specialised advice as to the nuances of civil partnerships, what protections are offered to you within a civil partnership, what grounds there are for ending a civil partnership and guidance on the legal process surround dissolving a civil partnership.
Domestic Violence and Harassment- we understand that anyone can, unfortunately, be affected first-hand by domestic violence, whether that be physical, emotional or both. There are also laws surrounding controlling and coercive behaviour.
If you are unsure on your matter or simply want advice in confidence on how the law can be used to protect you and your family, please contact the family law department.
Our other departments:
We also have a variety of other departments that are detailed in brief below.
The Property team can assist with commercial or residential property matters such as the legalities around buying and selling a property and tenancy agreements. If you’re moving your family to new home and already have the packing and children to worry about, let us do the stressful legal part for you!
Our employment team can advise on matters such as dismissal, workplace protocol, negligence and many more instances. In recent times, we have also been asked to advise on appropriate action during and post COVID-19 restrictions, which can be confusing as it is a constantly changing topic.
Our litigation team can assist with a wide variety of matters including agency working in local courts, commercial litigation, contentious probate, debt recovery and property litigation. Examples of the type of litigation work we take on are: removal of tenants, recovery of money owed to a previous employee and boundary disputes.
Our immigration department works with clients who are applying for residency and leave to remain. If you have any immigration queries, we would be happy to help.
Our Private Client department can draft your Will for you and / or guide you through what can be a challenging time upon the death of a loved one.
At Meadows Ryan, our values are Excellence, Respect, Communication and Community. Our community is spread far and wide. Although we have a lot of clients from the immediate local area such as Weybridge, Walton, Cobham and Esher, we also have many clients nationwide and internationally. In July 2019, we decided to open our London office to service our growing amount of London based clients.
