Flamingo Land Review
We are so excited to share our Flamingo Land Review with you. When we visited Flamingo Land, we were actually on holiday about half an hour away at Blue Dolphin Haven in Filey, if you want to read our Blue Dolphin Filey Review or our Primrose Valley Review click the links. We often review fun days out with kids and recently reviewed Nickelodeon Land and Gulliver’s World. We visited Flamingo Land in the Easter school holidays.
We didn’t realise that Flamingo Land is also a holiday village too and had we known we may have booked to stay here for a night.
Where is Flamingo Land?
Flamingo Land is a theme park located in Malton which is around a 30-40 minute drive from Blue Dolphin. If you are thinking of visiting a Haven at the same time and making a holiday out of it then the Havens in the Filey area are the perfect break for a family, we didn’t realise, but there is actually a caravan park on-site that you can stay at too so we do recommend taking a look at that, we didn’t get a chance to review that, but we hope we can next time for you.
What is Flamingo Land?
Flamingo Land is more than just a theme park, as well as being an incredible theme park it is also an award-winning zoo in Yorkshire.
What age is Flamingo Land Theme Park for?
Flamingo Land is suitable for Children aged 2+, the kids loved it.
Is Parking Free at Flamingo Land?
I am so glad this theme park offers FREE parking, especially when you pay so much to get in.
What is the admission fee for Flamingo Land?
The price for entry would have been £179.00 for a family of four for the day. You can return the next day for half price.
Opening Hours
We always recommend checking the website for opening times as they can vary but when we visited on Easter Sunday 2023, the opening hours were 10 am – 5pm.
Can you take your own food into Flamingo Land?
I loved seeing so many families with picnics, we were, of course, a little too unorganised to prepare a picnic, we are lucky to get out of the house as a four these days so although Olivia-Grace had her lunch provided the rest of us were on the lookout for somewhere nice to eat at lunchtime.
Places to Eat at Flamingo Land
Curry Express
Fortune 2 go
The Coach house
Jolly Sailor 2 Go
Muddy Duck Cafe
Zanzibar Food Market
The Gourmet Grill
Zoo Bar
Riverside one
The Diner
Pitchers Sports Bar
Picnic Planet
Boma Cafe
Metropolis
I highly recommend looking into each restaurant before your trip so you don’t let your hanger choose, we ended up in Zanzibar, but we do wish we had explored a little more and picked something a little more extravagant. We had hotdogs and burgers, and whilst they were good, there are so many nice things to choose from we liked the look of the coach house.
The Kids Rides at Flamingo Land
Ok, so first of all we are a family of four, we have 2 children, George 6 nearly 67 (no joke) and Olivia-Grace 15 months, so it was important to us to find a theme park that has a mix of big rides and small rides, and Flamingo Land did not disappoint.
Whilst George was not yet 1.2 meters (much to his disappointment), there were still many rides to go on. Olivia-Grace also had her first taste of thrill-seeking.
The rides we could go on were;
Helitoys
Dino Roller
Go Gator
Vortex
Frog Hopper
Runaway Train
Muddy Truck Tractor Ride
Little Monsters Wacky Races
Mischief Mansion
Twistosaurus plus so many more.
Overall Review of Flamingo land
We had a great t time at Flamingo land and it was a good experience for all the family. You can save money by taking a picnic with you. I did find the price of £179.00 for a family of 4 expensive for the one day, especially as there is so much to see and just not enough time to see it all but we would definitely go back if we were over that way again. I would like to go back when George is slightly taller so he can get on the rides he was just a little too small for.
Flamingo land Zoo
We only made it to the Zoo part of Flamingo Land later in the day so we didn’t have a chance to see much of it. We did however see the amazing Flamingos, and the kids enjoyed the animals we did get a chance to see.
