How Blackwater Law’s NHS Performance Tracker Could Help You Make
Heading into hospital for any kind of healthcare can be a daunting prospect, and when you’re faced with a choice of prospective Trusts it can be difficult to know which option is the best for you. Thankfully, medical negligence solicitors Blackwater Law have developed the NHS Performance Tracker to help you find the facts relating to hospitals in your area and make choosing the right treatment centre easy.
How to use the NHS Performance Tracker
Using Blackwater Law’s NHS Performance Tracker couldn’t be simpler. Start by navigating to the web page and enter your postcode or region, then click “Search” or hit enter to see a list of Trusts serving your area:
Select the Trusts you are interested in learning more about by clicking on them in the list, and the tracker will take you to a detailed report page offering key information you can use to inform your healthcare decisions:
You can also find Trusts by selecting them from an A-Z list, located adjacent to the search box:
What kind of information is available through the NHS Performance Tracker?
Once you’ve selected a Trust to investigate, the first thing the NHS Performance tracker will provide is a brief summary detailing which healthcare services they offer. At the right of the screen, you will also see whether they are currently registered with the Care Quality Commission (CQC), and when the last report was issued:
Underneath this section, detailed statistics are provided on a range of key healthcare performance metrics, including instances of potential clinical negligence such as:
- The number of times surgery was provided at the wrong site in the body, or incorrect implants issued.
- Overdoses or incorrect administration of drugs / treatments.
- Poor patient oversight leading to falls or injuries.
- Instances of patients retaining foreign objects following surgery.
Data is also provided on the Trust’s diligence in conducting follow-up appointments where applicable, and current bed occupancy figures:
