Knocking my bake-sale up to fifth gear
I am planning on taking part in a fundraiser on behalf of my business “MyBump2Baby”.
I have never really taken part in fundraising events before, when I used to work at Skipton building society as a customer advisor they were always great at getting involved in fundraising events but we often got a budget and bought cakes and biscuits from the shop. I used to love buying the sweet treats but I never really out as much effort in as I would have liked to.
When I first found out about the fundraising event taking place in Summer 2018 I was really excited to get involved and set time aside to make sure I make as much effort as I can. The only trouble was that I was totally unsure what I should do. I thought about face-painting but I am not very good at that, I thought about some pottery painting but when I priced it up it worked out really expensive and I wanted to keep my budget low but at the same time raise lots of money. After asking my family and friends for their ideas and what they would like to see at a fundraising event, it turns out that they all love cake. They assured me that cupcakes always go down well at fundraising events, so with that in mind and the fact my friends are cake lovers I have decided that I am going to do a bake-sale. Those of you who know me personally are probably raising your eyebrows at the thought, I am not a baker, I think I baked a few cupcakes once and they were well how do you put it? Not the prettiest cupcakes I had ever seen and they definitely tasted better than they looked! I have decided it would be a good idea to involve my son, George in this baking fundraising event so at least if they turn out a bit messy then I can say George made them and I wouldn’t be lying.
As mentioned above – I am not a baker which means when it comes to apparatus I have nothing. I wanted to keep my costs down where I could, so I headed to Home Bargains in my local town of Lytham St Anne’s and purchased a cupcake baking tray, a whisk and a bowl.
I decided that I would also like to get some MyBump2Baby personalised merchandise for the bake-sale but I wasn’t sure what to get. I wanted to make sure my stand was MyBump2Baby’fied. I came across a website called Countryside Art and they specified in personalised merchandise. I couldn’t believe how many different items I could get for the bake sale. I decided not to go too crazy so I am going to purchase a MyBump2Baby personalised apron, a MyBump2Baby tea towel and a MyBump2Baby personalised oven glove for effect. There are so many different items available on this amazing website – literally personalised merchandise for any occasion.
