If you would like to learn a wonderful skill that will benefit both you and your little one, and meet other mums too, why not come and join one of my classes? I am a Massage Therapist, Baby Massage Instructor, Adult Education Teacher and Massage in Schools instructor and I offer massage classes for Bumps, Babies and Beyond! I am fully qualified, insured and Enhanced DBS checked, and my classes are endorsed by my Professional Body, The Complementary Therapists Association (CThA). You can check out my qualifications there, and I am also happy to provide proof of these, plus my insurance, and copies of over 180 client testimonials, on request.
Research has shown that babies who are regularly massaged feed and sleep better than those who are not, and colic and constipation are reduced. Baby massage has a host of other benefits too- for parents as well as babies. It’s also a wonderful way to relax, bond with, and have fun with your baby! Baby massage classes are ideal for babies from 6 weeks to crawling. Courses run for 5 weeks. Fees include laminated, illustrated handouts of the massage routines, a comprehensive course booklet, song sheets, massage oil and a personalised certificate for your baby.
Massage, Music and Movement
My Massage, Music and Movement classes have been designed for babies aged 5 months – 1 year. Massage is still extremely beneficial for babies at this stage; particularly as it helps to relieve pressure on their joints as they start turning over, crawling and walking. But once babies can start to roll over, they usually want to be as active as possible! These classes are livelier than the Baby Massage classes ; as well as massage, they feature fun songs which help to develop your baby’s body awareness and also help to encourage language development, and movements (swaying, bouncing, clapping, etc.) to encourage coordination. Courses run for 4 weeks. Fees include laminated, illustrated handouts of the massage routines, a comprehensive course booklet, song sheets, and a personalised certificate for your baby.
Toddler Mad (Massage and Dance)
Toddler Mad classes are aimed at children from 18 months-4 years. Studies have shown that massage helps to calm and relax children, and it can also help to improve their concentration and motor skills, and increase their feelings of well-being and self-esteem. In these classes, the massage routines are short, and set to well-known songs and stories, to keep children engaged and entertained. There are other activities too, including dancing, singing and age appropriate arts and crafts. These classes help to encourage imagination, creativity, language development, coordination, a love of songs and stories, and bonding between parent and child. They are also lots of fun! Courses run for 4 weeks. Fees include electronic copies of the massage routines and resources for the art and craft activities.
Baby and Mummy Dance and Massage
I run BAMDAM classes in partnership with my colleague Veronika, a mum and baby dance instructor. We decided to combine our skills sets to create these innovative new classes, where you can keep fit, learn how to massage your baby, have fun, and meet other parents with young babies too. This course is suitable for babies from 3-12 months (providing you are still able to comfortably carry, and dance with, your baby in a sling). It runs for 5 weeks.
As well as running classes in various venues in Havering, I also offer private 1-1 and group classes, which take place in the client’s home. I work with parents with babies from 3 weeks old for 1-1 and 1-2 sessions, and 4 weeks old for small group sessions. Saturday appointments are available. Discounts are available for groups of 6 parents or more.
