The centre opened in 2008 and provides maths and English programmes for students of all ages and abilities. Many of the students at the centre attend schools within the area and live in the local community.
Conveniently located at the heart of Blakenhall, the centre is situated at St Luke’s Church Hall, the entrance to which is via Moore Street South. The centre provides both a classroom and a room for parents to wait while their children attend the class. Parking facilities are available at the centre.
At present, students at the centre range from four to 13 years old. Most of them have been students at the centre since it first opened and are all making excellent progress.
All English students read to a member of staff at each visit before they do any written work. This allows a record on their reading ability to be kept.
The unique Kumon Maths and English Programmes pursue the potential of each child by developing confident, independent learners through individualised, advanced study.
