If you’re looking for something active and different for your kids to get involved in, why not try out the cultural and fun art form of Capoeira?
Classes for kids are being held at the Better Living space in Shirley every Thursday** h17.30-18.15
Capoeira combines martial arts, dance and music into an art form that encompasses Afro-Brazilian culture, music, language, and movement.
Characterised by kicks but accompanied with instruments and songs, it was used by African slaves to disguise a fighting style as something that looked like a dance.
Today, Capoeira is fast becoming a popular way to keep fit, improve strength, balance, co-ordination and stamina. By practising Capoeira, kids will develop all of this, together with achieving greater self-esteem, flexibility, balance, discipline and respect.
If your child is aged 5-11 and has no special needs, bring them to try their first class for only £5. Afterwards, classes will be charged on a monthly term basis
