CarryOm Yoga offers mixed dynamic antenatal and postnatal yoga classes Wednesday at 10.15-11.30AM at Gooseberry Bush Studio.
The class is suited to all levels of yoga experience, prenatally from the second trimester and following the birth of your baby after the six-to-eight-week postnatal check.
Yoga helps mums-to-be prepare for birth, stay connected to body and breath, and remain relaxed and fit throughout pregnancy. Yoga postures are adapted so that you can safely strengthen and tone, while breathing exercises reduce stress and boost oxygen to both mum and baby.
Postnatally, yoga helps mums reconnect with their bodies, gently build core strength, and release shoulders. Breathing exercises and movement build mental wellbeing, energy levels and physical resilience essential to new motherhood. Babies can be incorporated into the practice with song and postures. Mums are welcome to stop at any time throughout the class to care for bubs.
