Hey Baby and Beyond

Welcome to Hey Baby and Beyond, I am Lauren a mum of 4 and a passionate antenatal and postnatal teacher in Manchester. I am NCT trained alongside extensive knowledge gained from working in maternity for the past 10 years. I run fun, friendly informative classes for parents to be, covering everything from labour & birth, caring for your baby, practical & emotional skills for parents to be, infant feeding and weaning.

My classes aim to prepare your for your journey into labour, birth and beyond with continuous support when needed along your journey. I aim to guide parents to have a positive experience and achieve the things that matter most to them – every journey is unique. During the sessions we will cover everything to give you all the information you need, the what ifs and maybes and everything in between, we will talk over your preferences and how best to achieve them, the role of the birth partner, coping mechanisms for labour, basic hypnobirthing techniques, breathing, when to go to hospital, options for where to give birth and what is available where.

For your baby we will discuss normal newborn behavior, crying, cues, sleep and safe sleep, holding and winding, packing your hospital bags, feeding options, dressing baby, nappys, whats in the nappy, how to tell if your baby is poorly and much more.

Antenatal classes also give you a safe space to ask questions and gain confidence ahead of your baby arriving.

I believe every person should have access to evidence based information to make informed decisions about their care in labour and options for birthing their baby. We know that every labour may not be straight forward, but having the tools and information to navigate your way through this is key to a positive experience.

I offer small group courses and 1-1 session. Usually, the group sessions run once per month an are either 2 weekend sessions – a full day at a weekend or 2 Friday evenings. I also have online pre-recorded videos accessible on my snipfeed if you are further away.

1-1 sessions take place in the comfort of your own home and are designed to suit you and your preferences.
