This 2 day course is in line with the early years foundation stage requirements for childminders and gives candidates the knowledge and ability to deal with emergency first aid situations particularly whilst dealing with children.
This course is recognised by Early years and Lincolnshire County Council and the syllabus is in line with the early years foundation stage requirements.
This course is suitable for nursery workers, childminders and anyone who wants a more in depth first aid knowledge whilst looking after young children.
Course Syllabus:
Assessment of the scene.
Prioritisation of casualties.
Assessment of casualties.
CPR (Using both adult and child sized manikins).
Recovery position.
Causes and treatment of unconsciousness.
Head injury.
Fainting.
Asphyxia.
Heart attack.
Allergic reactions.
Epilepsy.
Diabetes.
Poisoning.
Asthma.
Bleeds and burns.
Legislation, accident book, RIDDOR & contents of 1st aid box.
Course length: 12 hours over 2 days.
Qualification achieved: TQUK Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid
