I offer a number of services for families with babies and young children:
Infant-parent therapy
If you’re struggling with attachment or your baby is having sleeping or feeding issues or difficulty settling, infant-parent therapy can help you both to settle in to your new life together and find a rhythm and flow in your day-to-day life. I offer a therapy called Watch, Wait and Wonder, an infant-led form of psychotherapy that helps develop secure attachment.
Infant trauma therapy
Did your baby have a difficult birth? Did they spend time in NICU or need any surgeries or interventions? Has your baby or young child been involved in an accident or experienced any other form of early trauma? Narrative EMDR for infants and toddlers is a very brief therapy that can help your baby to recover from early difficulties before these affect their long-term functioning.
EMDR for parents
If you experienced birth trauma yourself, you may also benefit from EMDR. This type of trauma therapy is quick and very effective at eliminating flashbacks, intrusive thoughts and feelings, avoidance of trauma-related things and ongoing nightmares. EMDR can even help you to recover from old traumas from your own childhood or earlier life that may interfere with your parenting.
Parenting coaching
Sometimes parents just need some support in navigating the challenging world of raising another human being! If you’re finding parenting more difficult than you thought you would, or your child’s behaviour seems completely baffling, or you’re finding yourself acting just like your own parent when you swore you never would then parenting coaching might be the place to start!
I am based in Uckfield, East Sussex, but other than the infant-parent therapy, all my other services are available online.
