YogaBellies for Pregnancy classes are unique, prenatal yoga classes for women.
We use traditional yoga postures or asanas, adapted for pregnancy and all the fun problems that can arise in a pregnant woman! Class also included self-hypnosis and deep relaxation along with breathing techniques for pregnancy and birth (pranayama.)
YogaBellies pre-natal yoga classes are gentle and safe for all women, whether you are new to yoga or have years of practice. Each class lasts 1hr 15 minutes and each week focuses on a different aspect of pregnancy and birth. This is more than just a yoga class, it is also training in deep relaxation and preparation for birth and motherhood. It is an amazing way to bond with baby and meet other mummies to be and become part of an amazing community of women!
The classes run in 8 week blocks and you will also receive a gorgeous YogaBellies tote bag for you to keep. We will also be sending you tons of valuable yoga, pregnancy and baby information, once a week, via our ‘virtual pack’ emails. Expect information on your yoga practice, YogaBellies breathing techniques and MP3 downloads of meditations; routines to practice at home; mini sequence video clips and special YogaBellies offers, and much, much more.
What happens at the classes?
Each week we cover a different topic such as bonding with baby or preparing for the big day. We also cover things like breathing techniques for labour and positions for labour too. The yoga postures are all suitable for pregnancy and will be adapted as per your trimester, and focus on building strength and stamina and keeping you flexible and fit.
When is it best to start?
I would recommend that you wait until you are at least 12 weeks pregnant before beginning YogaBellies for Pregnancy classes, ideally after your 12-14 week scan. If you have any pre-existing medical conditions or have had any serious problems during pregnancy, please run this past your GP before starting the class and discuss with myself. Please don’t worry if you have never done yoga before, most of the mums to be are trying it for the first time!
What do I need to bring?
All mats, blankets and equipment are provided, just bring yourself, a bottle of water and some lose comfortable clothes for your yoga practice.
