Being a Mummy with Cruddy Skin
So last week after months of being totally unhealthy… not only with my diet but also with my skincare regime, I realised I can no longer use the excuse “I have just had a baby” because the little monster is nearly a year old. I don’t know about you but not looking after myself really gets me down and I feel totally unconfident. One of my new year’s resolutions was that I needed to start look after my health, my skin and my body…. and I am yet to do this (I actually cannot believe it is nearly March by the way).
Each and every night I thank the Lord that George and I have survived another day with me in charge and to be totally honest the last thing on my mind has been “have I taken my makeup off properly?” the questions in my head each day are more like, “did I feed George today?” “When did I last change his nappy?” and the rare occasion when I am driving along and he is being THAT quiet I do wonder if I actually remembered to put him in the car.
For months and months I have been removing my makeup with nothing other than the good old Mamia baby wipes (simple wipes if I actually have had the time to nip to home bargains). My skin doesn’t know what moisturiser is at the moment, it is full of black dots and its looks totally thirsty and right now as I am typing this I am glancing in the mirror and the only word I can use to describe the way I look is mmmmm “haggard” yep that is definitely the word that best describes me at the moment… “haggard old bitch” oh wait… that is three words!!!!
I am now a woman on a mission to find a new wonderful skincare regime that is affordable but also makes me feel my best… is that too much to ask?
I will be researching and trying as many cleanser, toners and moisturisers as I can and I will be on a mission to find THE BEST one (I am way too excited) .
Every mummy deserves to take care of herself and feel nice…. I will be back with my results veryyyy soon ladies xxxx
