Baby Sensory is a multi award-winning learning and development programme for babies from birth-13 months. Devised by Dr Lin Day, over 35 years of specialist childcare experience and early development knowledge contributed to the planning of our sessions. Classes have been running across the UK for 10 years and are now coming to the Preston area for the first time!
Baby Sensory focusses on stimulating your baby’s senses as research shows that essential brain growth and development occurs when senses are stimulated regularly within the first year of life. Our classes involve a lot of music and singing, with a great variety of sign language, baby massage, musical instruments, puppet shows, fibre optic light displays, messy play, water splash, bubbles and so much more!
Our programme is unique as it is structured in such a way that babies recognise a routine and anticipate what is to come, but a vital interval ensures they don’t become tired or over-stimulated. Each week babies have a 15-20 minute break during class to make use of our fantastic exploratory play area which features a ball pool, raised bed with textured fabrics to discover, soft books, walkers, ride-on toys, tummy-time toys and soft climbing blocks. This break from our sensory activities also gives parents the opportunity to meet and get to know each other so our class offers a wonderful social element in addition to the developmental benefits of our sensory activities.
