Antenatal Beginning Breastfeeding Courses
Are you expecting a baby? Would you like to prepare for breastfeeding your baby? If you’re a dad, mum, partner or close friend or family member, would you like some ideas for how to support mum and baby with breastfeeding? The LLLGB Beginning Breastfeeding antenatal breastfeeding course will give you the chance to learn about breastfeeding, meet other parents with similar concerns, and find out where to access breastfeeding information and support when your baby is born. The course includes films, interactive activities and discussion as well as meeting a breastfeeding mother and baby.
Finding out about breastfeeding before your baby is born can be a huge help in getting breastfeeding off to a good start. In some areas around the country, LLLGB offers a course of 3 workshops aimed at mums and dads/partners/ another person to support mum. The course fee is £75 per mum+1, or £45 for unwaged families. The course is run by one or more experienced LLL Leaders; they have breastfed their own babies for at least a year and are accredited by LLL International. Each couple will receive a pack of selected LLLGB information sheets and leaflets to take away with them.
