Business of the month J’adore Mama, Maternity and Infant Centre
MyBump2Baby interviews our Business of the Month, J’adore Mama – The Maternity and Infant Centre in Lytham
Can you tell us a little about yourselves?
We are a Centre or hub if you like, where all maternity and infant classes can be found under one roof. We also work out in the community offering classes for parents and babies in local children’s Centre’s and community rooms. Within our Centre we have hypnobirthing, welcome home baby workshops, baby massage, baby yoga, sensory classes, open plays, messy play, rhythm and rhyme and various parenting workshops aimed at promoting self-confidence and positive well-being! We believe in providing a safe, secure and stimulating environment where all families are welcome! Parents can meet other parents, chat and have a brew and babies/children can explore freely whilst learning from highly qualified Early Years Practitioners. We also offer fully facilitated children’s parties and room hire.
How did J’adore Mama come about?
J’adore Mama was founded 4 years ago by Roxanne Francois when she noticed the need for parent and baby classes in the community an interest formed from midwifery experience. Then after taking me on board nearly 3 years ago I envisaged wider opportunities for parent and baby/child classes and with my early years background I wanted a place where learning could be incorporated in a fun and stimulating environment whilst still focusing on the importance of the early bond between parent and child. I took over the business in March of this year and it is the best decision I have ever made it is truly my calling.
What are the benefits of your centre?
With all of our classes and services under one roof parents and families are able to feel comfortable and secure. We like to think we are very relaxed and often have families tell us this. Our Centre is fully equipped and secure so children are able to roam freely.
We are also able to advertise for other services so if there is something we do not or cannot provide we will know where to guide people. We also have a small shop where we stock small businesses products that are aimed at families so it is a great place to find unique parent and baby products.
What age range do your classes cover?
Our classes cover from conception to 5 and in the school holidays we ensure we provide activities for older siblings too.
What kind of businesses come in to your centre?
We have great connections with lots of businesses in the area. The YMCA advertise from us as well as swimming companies, Sweaty Mamas, holistic therapists, gift companies, hypnobirthing instructors, sleep therapists and well-being coaches. We also have a select number of small businesses who stock with us
Do you stock products for online businesses?
Absolutely, we have some businesses that display a select number of their products with us that can be ordered through us directly to the seller.
Do your classes help mums with mental health?
Beside child development this is one of the main reasons for setting up the Centre and involving specialist services that can help with perinatal mental health. On a more intimate level Mum’s that attend our classes are able to speak openly without judgement and often find and meet parents in the same position. To just be able to talk and listen to advice can be the best therapy for Mums suffering with Mental Health issues. We have specialist parental coaches and family support specialists on site that we can refer to when needed and who often run classes and courses from the Centre.
What are your goals for the next 5 years?
To continue to grow but to have the Maternity and Infant Centre as our constant base. We are looking to take our classes back into the community in further areas recruiting more members of staff to continue the J’adore Mama way of delivering Parent and baby/child classes. The future is bright.
