Crafty Ways to Brighten up Your Walls
One of the nicest things about crafting is that it makes it really easy for you to keep your home looking fresh and interesting. There are lots of different ways to decorate your walls using your creations. Here are some of my favourite ideas. Most of them do not even require you to be particularly good at crafts.
Turn your photos into beautiful canvas prints
This first idea is the perfect example of an easy project that requires very few skills to implement. All you need to do is to take one of your favourite high-resolution photos and send it to hellocanvas pictures. They will then turn it into a fantastic looking canvas print. You can either hang it on one of your own walls or give it as a gift to a relative and friends.
The whole process only takes a few minutes and can be done online at any time of the day or night. This makes it an excellent way to put together a last minute personalised present for someone.
Other photo related ideas
While we are on the subject of photos there are literally hundreds of ways you can use them creatively to decorate your home. You can easily create a mural, stick photos on your fridge and cover ornaments in them. If you do not fancy any of these projects you could potentially send them away to be
used on cups or turned into decals to be stuck onto items like your laptop or phone.
Use stencils
Using stencils is a fantastic way to add interest to your room. If you really want to you can buy them online or download and print them. However, I would suggest that you have a go at making your own. With the help of tracing paper you can copy the outline of any shape and transfer it to the heavy paper you are going to make your stencil from. All you need to do is to use a good quality craft knife to cut the shape out and create your stencil.
Use potato stamps
Potatoes can be carved to create stamps that you can then dip into paint and apply to the wall. This is an easy way to create a unique pattern on your walls. If you do not feel confident about carving a potato, just cut some citrus fruit into halves or quarters and use those as readymade painting stamps, instead.
Put up a shelf
If you have the necessary DIY skills, make and hang a shelf. Once up it can be used to hold an ornament you create or perhaps a plant or flowers that you arrange. To make it look even more special you can use an up light.
Create your own paintings and works of art
There are lots of ways to create pieces of art that are good enough to hang on your walls. If you click here you will be taken to a page which contains dozens of easy to implement ideas. The good thing about most of them is that you do not necessarily have to be able to paint or draw to create them.
