GF Victoria Costa Adeje Review
We are really excited to share our GF Victoria Costa Adeje Review with you today, we tried and tested everything in the hotel just for you of course and we are really excited to share our tips and honest experience.
First things first, I want to be clear that I was not paid for this review, all opinions are our own from our own personal experience of the GF Victoria in Tenerife. Now before heading on jetting off on your holiday you mgiht want to read my other blog on flying with a toddler for some inspiration. We also recently reviewed some other Destinations
Why Did we Book the GF Victoria hotel in Tenerife?
We booked the GF Victoria hotel because we heard it was a wonderful hotel for families, a couple of our friends had been and loved it and as we are now a family of four – a good family friendly hotel was an absolute must!!!
Our family consists of myself, my husband (cocktail lovers) our 6-year-old boy who loves to be entertained from morning till night and our 5 months old baby girl who drinks more milk than you could ever imagine, so it was really important that we booked a hotel that had everything for all the family so that we had everything we needed at our fingertips in one place.
The GF Victoria hotel is a very large hotel and was built and open for business just before Covid so in terms of age, it is a very new hotel.
The main hotel facilities that caught our eye were;
The Surf Pool
The Family Pool
The Buffet Restaurant
The Splash Park
The Kids Club
The Shopping Mall over the road (caught my eye)
Arrival at the GF Victoria hotel, Costa Adeje tenerife
We arrived at the hotel via taxi at around 9 pm and upon arrival, we were greeted by the hotel staff. They took our bags right away, and we headed check-in at the front reception desk, it was just a few minutes which was useful as we had 2 very tired children.
We were offered a drink on arrival, but because it had been a long day, we decided to wait until the following day. We were thinking about upgrading from bed and breakfast to half board and we were quoted 88 euros per day.
We were unsure if we would use this so declined, we were told we can upgrade at any point throughout the holiday which was useful, it meant we could see how often we use the restaurant and more importantly, weigh up if it was actually worth the investment for us.

Our Hotel room – Family Room
We chose the family room for our stay at the GF Victoria, we were tempted to upgrade to the Harmony Suite but we didn’t think we would use the hot tub to justify the price increase, we had plans for some lovely meals and drinks out in the evening and we didn’t think it would be worth it for us.
There were 2 rooms and 2 bathrooms in our suite. The first room was a front room with a sofa and a bed coming off the sofa where George would sleep, then a separate room where would sleep there was a dividing door too if you wanted some “alone time” with your partner. There was also a cot on wheels so you could move this wherever you wanted.
Upon walking into the room, the bathroom with a toilet and shower cubicle was on the left and on the right there was a double wardrobe with a shelf and a safe inside, there we extra duvets in case it got cold but we didn’t need those (it was May). We had air conditioning which helped keep it cool but without making it too cool.
The room had USB ports, which were really handy for charging our electricals. We did have lots of euro plugs, but we only needed a few because of the USB ports. Each bathroom had a built-in hair dryer which helps massively the power of the hair dryer was fairly good.
The Cleaning service
The cleaning of the room was brilliant. The staff could not do enough for you. If you want your towels changed, you just leave them on the floor. If you would like your bed changed each day you just leave a note on your pillow, and they will change your bedding every day. We tipped at the end of the holiday instead of every day, and we tipped 20 euros.
One lady I spoke to had actually brought some ready-made meals for her 2-year-old which made sense and is a great idea especially if you are heading out to restaurants later in the evening.
Baby-Friendly Hotel
Initially, I brought microwavable sterilising pouches for my daughter but I called down to the reception to see if they had anything to sterilise bottles and to my surprise, they did and delivered the electric steriliser right away.
We went to the supermarket which is a 5-minute walk from the hotel and got some dishcloths and also washed up liquid and washed the bottles in the tap water then sterilised bottles and Olivia was absolutely fine. If you are bringing a baby I do recommend speaking to the hotel about placing a steriliser in the room for your arrival.
Streaming on the Television
There were two TVs on the wall in both rooms if you switch the TV to HDMI2 you can stream your phone from Netflix and other streaming apps (not YouTube). We couldn’t switch HDMI on the remote control so we had to use the button under the TV and then press across to HDMI 2.
Once we did this we could stream any of our Netflix favourites and this was perfect for when we went out for early dinners and fancied a chilled night in the room.
Excellent Room Service with no extra charges
We could order drinks and food to the room and there was no extra cost, just the same cost on the menu which was a nice relief when we got the bill.
What extras are included at the GF Victoria Hotel?
There is no need to bring shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, dressing gowns, slippers or even beach towels since these are all included within the room. We received a GF victoria shopping bag with flip-flops and beach towels inside on arrival.
The Mini Club (The Kids Club)
George loved the mini club (the kids club), initially, he didn’t go in for the first few days because he had met a friend at the hotel and they were enjoying the pool together. Once his friend had gone home, he decided he would like to try it.
The kids club is open from 11 am – 1 pm and then from 2 pm until 3:30 pm. In the kids club, they have some fantastic staff and do lots of different activities including crafts and games. There is no extra cost for using the kids club at Gf Victoria.
I have always been wary of leaving George in a kids club but this hotel feels very safe and the staff are just so fantastic and lovely, they take your name, and your telephone number and will call you if there are any problems. George got burnt on holiday so I thought it was a great way to keep him out of the sun a little and he absolutely loved it.
In the evening, there was a mini disco for the children. This is located on level 2 outside so you would need to use the lift in the main reception to get there The mini disco is followed by entertainment. There are waiters and waitresses to serve you as and when you wish and you can put drinks on your room bill.
The Baby Club
The baby Club will take your baby in ot the creche from 4 months old. If you like the idea of heading up to the Roof top Bar (sky bar) for a cocktail or to the spa to have lunch your children are covered for a couple of hours. We didn’t use the baby Club but it did look very good there were lots of toys and the staff were just lovely when we spoke with them.
Swimming Pools at GF Victoria
There are four different pools at the GF Victoria. Initially. We headed to the splash park pool on the fifth floor. And then we spent the remainder of the week on level two, where there is a bigger pool. All the pools are classed as heated but I wouldn’t say they are particularly warm, it was boiling in May so we did use the pool every day but if the weather wasn’t as good I probably wouldn’t have gone in the pool. There is also an adult pool as well as the glass pool in the rooftop adults bar but we didn’t get the chance to use this one.
Outdoor Pools Service
There were constantly waiters and waitresses collecting orders from around the pool areas, there is a QR code you can scan on your table to view the menu. You can order drinks and food as and when you want, the price for lunch was very reasonable which is why it wasn’t worth us upgrading to half board. We found we actually saved my money by just having food around the pool. When we felt like it, then we went out for nice evening meals.
Swimming and Toy Shop inside the GF Victoria hotel
I wouldn’t bother bringing inflatables from home, there is a shop downstairs in the hotel lobby which has lots of inflatables and they even blow them up for you, there is also plenty of little toys for souvenirs and to keep your children entertained.
Breakfast at GF Victoria, Costa Adeje
As previously mentioned, we opted for bed and breakfast which was the minimum option available, we chose this because we like to explore and try out new restaurants, and we also didn’t want to feel tied to the hotel.
The buffet restaurant for breakfast was fantastic it had everything from the omlettes to smoothies, there are full English breakfasts and everything you can imagine. There are unlimited coffees available or you can even opt for a glass of Cava each morning.
We did try the lunch buffet on one occasion and although it was nice we didn’t feel it was worth the 88 euro per day as our son doesn’t eat much, we also like to be free to try other restaurants. The restaurant staff were fantastic and could not do enough for us.
Lunch at the Pool
We had lunch at the swimming pools for multiple days and we really enjoyed it. The price was really reasonable.
The Roof top bar
The Rooftop Bar, the rooftop part was at very strict with children, we accidentally went up to the rooftop bar one evening when trying to locate our room and we were told to leave immediately and not in a very friendly manner.
I met another mum on holiday and whilst the husbands looked after the children we went for a lovely cocktail upstairs and it was just beautiful. If you can get up there I do highly recommend it. You can have lunch up there and even get in the adult pool (infinity pool).
Overall Summary of GF Victoria Hotel in Costa Adeje
This hotel is just beautiful, we really enjoyed this holiday. We found the prices of the drinks average, we didn’t get a nasty surprise at the end of the holiday even though we fully utilised the pool service. We loved this holiday, and we love Tenerife, we would definitely book this hotel again. If you are looking for things to do in Adeje check out our Siam Park Review.
