My New Found Fashion in 2018
OK…OK… so I am a mum of a crazy, hyperactive toddler – I am often spotted in Tesco convenience stores modelling a slick back greasy bun blasted with hairspray to pin down those horrendous baby hairs, an old pair of boyfriend jeans from 2012, an old baggy T shirt and some grey trainers… they were white and yes they are THAT old. I never seem to treat myself and when I do it always seems to be on food and never clothes.
I am not going to lie; I try not to make eye contact with any mirrors whatsoever and when I do meet myself in the mirror I shake my head in pure disappointment, what has happened to me? I have really let myself go. I don’t know when it happened but I need to start making an effort in 2018.
Before I had my son George, I used to tan twice a week, go to the hairdressers for a blow dry once a week (my best friend is a hairdresser) workout at least 4 times a week, take my makeup off with something other than an Aldi baby wipe and my clothes would be a little more … what’s the word? Sexy, classy, up to date, fitting – ahhh the list could go on!!!
Now, I am not expecting to find the time to tan twice a week, go for a regular blow dry or manage to get to the gym on a regulsr basis – far from it but what i have promised myself for 2018 us to actually make some kind of effort.
At the moment I seem to be going round in the same vicious and nasty circle, so I hate the way I look which makes me sad and feel down which makes me not want to make the effort – I decided that I really need to pull myself out of this situation. In
in a bid to make an effort I have had to be ruthless and throw away the baggy t shorts, the baggy jeans and the old trainers. I knew that getting rid of these things is the first route to getting out if my awful routine.
Change starts today
So today I decided bought 2 pairs of jeans from Topshop for around £39.99 each, they are high waisted, figure hugging jeans which look so much better than the “Newlook boyfriend jeans” I was wearing from 2012.
I replaced the oversized t-shirts that made me look 8 times my size with 2 clingy yet comfortable jumpers from Miss Selfridge which show off my figure a little more kindly – they were on sale at £20 each.
Finally shoes, so I am sure you will agree that shoes are very important too. After a lot of time on Pinterest I felt that the secret to making anything look classy and smart, is a good pair of calf boots so my plan is to purchase some from uppersole calf boots to finish my outfits off.
I am so excited for the new me in 2018.
